A Romantic Blue Lakes Elopement in Breckenridge, Colorado — Brooke & Jacob

Brooke and Jacob’s Blue Lakes elopement in Breckenridge, Colorado was a perfect blend of intimacy, artistry, and mountain magic. After placing their full faith in the process and decision to elope, their day unfolded unlike any other high above Breckenridge with Mount Quandry as a backdrop. With a sunset ceremony beside an alpine lake, mountain goats as witnesses watching from the cliffs, and a quiet celebration back at their cabin with their closest friends, this intimate, emotional elopement was rooted in connection and intentionality.

Choosing an Elopement Location in Breckenridge

When Brooke first reached out inquiring about eloping and all that would entail, she didn’t have a location in mind just a feeling of what she wanted.

She spoke about wanting something emotional, moody, and romantic. Something rooted in nature. Something that felt expansive and deeply intentional.

From there, we stepped into the process together.

We shared location ideas based on places we had explored and scouted before and Blue Lakes quickly stood out. Tucked high above Breckenridge near Mount Quandary, it offers a rare combination of accessibility and raw alpine beauty.

They trusted us completely to guide the experience and that trust shaped everything that followed.

Getting Ready in the Mountains

We met Brooke and Jacob on the day of their elopement at their cabin Airbnb in Breckenridge, where they were getting ready with a few of their closest friends.

Jacob got ready downstairs with friends. He was relaxed, laughing, and sharing in the quiet excitement before everything began.

Upstairs, Brooke got ready with her best friend as the early evening light started to soften outside. The energy felt calm. Grounded. Full of anticipation.

Once they were both ready, they stepped out onto the porch and shared their first look!

A 4x4 Journey to Blue Lakes

From the cabin, everyone packed into their vehicles and followed us up the rugged and rocky 4x4 road toward Blue Lakes.

The drive itself is part of the experience. As the road winds higher, the landscape opens up into something wild and expansive and truly serene.

When Brooke and Jacob first saw the lakes, they were completely blown away.

They had never been there before.

And that moment, seeing it for the first time, on their elopement day is something they’ll carry forever

A Sunset Ceremony with Mountain Goats as Witnesses

We made our way down to the lake shore as the sun began to dip behind the mountains.

Above us, a herd of shaggy white mountain goats stood quietly along the cliffs watching.

On a rock jutting out into the still, reflective water, Brooke and Jake stood together and shared their vows. A close friend officiated, keeping the ceremony intimate and personal.

As they spoke, the light shifted into that soft, dramatic evening glow with rays highlighting the forests and mountain ridges behind them

And we did.

It was quiet.
It was emotional.
It was perfect.

Golden Hour, No Crowds, Just Us

After the ceremony, their friends headed back down while we stayed behind with Brooke and Jacob.

Because we intentionally plan all elopements on weekdays, we had the entire area to ourselves.

No crowds.
No noise.
Just the mountains, the lake, and the two of them.(and the mountains goats!)

The light that followed was unreal. It was soft, glowing, and cinematic in every direction.

I flew the drone as they wandered, laughed, and just were together. Nothing forced. Nothing staged. Just presence.

A Private Dinner & Blue Hour First Dance

As the last light faded, we made our way back to the cabin to join the rest of their guests.

Brooke and Jacob had arranged a private chef to prepare dinner for them and their guests.

Before dinner, they stepped out onto the balcony and shared their first dance surrounded by blue hour light and budding aspens.

It was one of those moments that feels suspended in time.

They cut cake, shared another toast, and settled into celebrate the evening as newlyweds with all of their people.

Kind Words from Brooke & Jake

“We cannot say enough great things about working with Caleb and Amy! From the very beginning, we were drawn to their style and the emotion they capture in both photos and films. The booking process was seamless, and they made us feel comfortable and excited leading up to our elopement.

On the day of, they were more than just photographers and videographers. They were calm, kind, and made the whole experience so easy. It felt like we were just hanging out with friends who happened to be capturing every special moment. They balanced professionalism with warmth in a way that made us feel completely at ease in front of the camera.

The photos and video blew us away. They did not just document the day, they captured the feeling of it. Looking back through the gallery, we are instantly taken back to the laughter, the joy, and the quiet moments we will never forget.

What stood out most to us was how intentional they were in capturing the small details as much as the big moments. We will cherish this work for the rest of our lives, and we are so grateful we trusted them with such an important role.

If you are considering them, do not hesitate. Caleb and Amy are the perfect combination of talented, professional, and genuinely wonderful people.”
