Ayla and Dane traveled all the way from their island paradise of Bermuda, where their current home was, to elope in the most beautiful and mysterious misty PNW forests surrounding the towering Mt. Rainier outside Seattle, Washington.

While we were all hoping that the PNW would hold up a little bit on it’s consistent moodiness of rain, fog, and mist, the PNW was as advertised as ever. With consistent and steady rain falling throughout the day and steady rolls of heavy mist through the forests, it was a Pacific Northwest lover’s dream. The forest floor was lush with deep green growth and fungi abundant.
Ayla and Dane were all here for it as well and embraced the downpours and the layer of mystery the weather provided their day. They dressed and readied at the nearby Alta Crystal Resort. Then it was a short walk through the enchanted forests to get to the clearing in the forest where their ceremony would be held. As Dane excitedly waited for his bride to meander the soggy forest path, the rain picked up even more as did everyone’s anticipation. Ayla and Dane committed their love for each other amidst the magical downpour and lush greens of the PNW while their closest family and friends looked on.
After the ceremony, we all went into Mt. Rainier National Park to adventure and have an after session with the newlyweds.
We found a nice and quiet secluded lake to hike around. While the rain subsided, the fog, mist, and cold picked up even more, but it did nothing to dampen the spirits of Ayla and Dane. They hiked and danced around the mystical land around Mt. Rainier and celebrated their new lives together. As the sky got ever darker with dusk, we headed back to Alta Vista Resort where the couple shared in a special cake cutting before they celebrated the rest of the night with their friends and family in the cozy cabins. It was an unforgettable day and one that I was honored to get to be a part of. Congrats to A + D!
