So if you haven’t been to Moab, where I do start?

Moab is a magical and otherworldly place.

It honestly feels like stepping onto Mars when you first get out of your car.

The landscape is vast, deserty, canyonness(is that word??

Anyways, There are natural arches. Canyons. Deserts. Cacti. Valleys. Red rocks. Rivers. Sunsets.

Should I keep going?

Also for this session, we happened to have a full moon weekend on our hands-which you will see if you make it all the way down to the end of the gallery(which you totes should. Those are some of my favorite)

This was a fun session with these two who drove out to Moab, Utah from Denver, Co - about a 5.5 hour drive to camp with Amy and I for the weekend, explore the National Parks, and of course take some photos!

They wanted to do a shoot that was fun, casual, and just them.

We all met up at Arches National Park on a Saturday morning, which surprisingly was not toooo crowded. I worry of mine when shooting at National Parks on the weekends. But Arches gave us some nice space to explore the vastness and openness of Moab, and its incredible rock formations.

After walking and hiking most of the day around Arches, at least where we could go. The only downside to doing shoots in National Parks is that the parks are pretty strict on where dogs are allowed to go and be. Seeing as we all had our dogs with us for the shoot, we were a tad limited.

Not that you can really tell, from the epic photos.

After Arches, we drove over to Canyonlands National Park - which is insane!

As of the date I’m writing this, I’ve still never been to see the Grand Canyon - but people have told me that Canyonlands has the same epic feel as the Grand Canyon.

So go see for yourself.

We were able to snap a few photos of one of the overlooks of the Canyons in the distance as the golden desert sun was hitting its golden peak of descent.

We finished the session driving back out in to the desert where we camped on some BLM land. And as the full moon was rising, and the campfire was being lit, and the beers were being cracked open, these two snuggled up by the fire with Taco.

Not tacos.

Taco- their cute little frenchie who quickly made friends with our dogs at the campsite(see photos! they played all night)

We stayed up late to the light of the campfire and the full moon.

It was magical.

It was also a little cold.

It was amazing.

Thanks to these two(three + 🌮🐶 ) for driving out to Moab, camping in the desert and exploring some rad places on earth together.
