Beyond the Rockies: Exploring Hidden Treasures
While Colorado is renowned for its majestic Rocky Mountains, the southeastern part of the state holds its own secrets waiting to be discovered. Among them is the Paint Mines, a surreal landscape characterized by vibrant hues and otherworldly formations. Jordan and Celeste chose this unique location for their engagement session, seeking an experience unlike any other. Describing the Paint Mines is challenging; it's like stepping onto another planet. The ground has eroded to reveal peculiar pillars adorned with stripes of purple, orange, and red hues.
A Unique Engagement Experience
As a Colorado Springs wedding photographer, I had the privilege of documenting Jordan and Celeste's love amidst the captivating beauty of the Paint Mines. We ventured into the mines during the peak of autumn. While there were no towering trees, the shrubbery and grasses displayed vibrant yellows and oranges, adding to the surreal beauty of the scene. We explored the ghostly white and purple canyons, seeking out creative and artistic spots to capture Jordan and Celeste's love and connection. As the sun dipped below the western horizon, casting the mines into darkness, the couple added a touch of Halloween spirit to their engagement shoot. They donned hand-carved jack-o'-lanterns on their heads and brought lanterns to enhance the atmosphere. It was truly a unique experience! Our session continued well into the evening, ending almost in complete darkness because none of us wanted the fun to stop.
