from the couple:

“Look no further, do yourself a favor and book with Caleb and Amy!

They shot our wedding video and we couldn’t love it more. It captured our wedding day perfectly and was exactly what we were hoping for. Not only are we beyond obsessed with our video, but Caleb and Amy were a joy to work with. They went above and beyond in so many ways.

They were accommodating, friendly, and engaging. On a day with so many moving parts, I can’t even begin to describe how great Caleb and Amy were to work with and so fun to be around.

Book with them, you’ll be so glad you did!!”

A Mountain Love Affair Unveiled in Telluride, Colorado

Katie and Brent chose the picturesque setting of Telluride, Colorado for their intimate elopement. Being outdoor enthusiasts who love hiking and camping, Telluride was the perfect spot to celebrate their adventurous love and personalities. The allure of a stunning summer day in the Colorado mountains set the stage for a celebration that blended love and adventure seamlessly. The day commenced at the trailhead of a hidden waterfall in the San Juans, where the couple, with us in tow, embarked on an early morning hiking adventure already fully dressed in their wedding attire. The strategic timing of the hike spared them from the summer heat, ensuring as much of comfortable experience as they could get hiking in a wedding dress and suit, but they embraced the mountain elopement adventure none-the-less.

At the base of the waterfall, we, as well as their elopement photographer, stepped away to give them some private and personal time together. Being able to craft a timeline and schedule that fits the pace you want is part of a huge positive when it comes to comparing traditional weddings to elopement days. As experienced Elopement Photographers and planners, we highly encourage couples to craft intentional and private moments into their elopement days that would otherwise be unavailable during the hustle and bustle of a larger wedding.

Katie and Brent took this advice and did just that. They enjoyed a light snack and the peaceful asmr of the falling water in the background as they prepared for what the rest of their day together, and future held.

Vows by the Alpine Lakes: A Ceremony Amidst Nature's Grandeur

Following the waterfall escapade, the journey continued to the breathtaking Alta Lakes outside Telluride, Colorado. Alta Lakes are a string of three high alpine lakes nestled up on the western facing side of the San Juan Mountain Range. While the road to get there is rocky and long, the reward of the peaceful natural ambience the lakes provide is well worth the effort. Family members joined the couple beside the alpine lake, where, amidst their frolicking dogs in the crystal-clear waters, Katie and Brent exchanged heartfelt vows in a simple yet profound ceremony.

Paddle Boarding in Wedding Attire: Sealing the Day with Adventure

Post-ceremony, they held a picnic that unfolded on the lakeshore, complete with pizza, champagne, cake, and a propane powered S’more station for all their closest family and friends to celebrate. While everyone feasted on pizza and enjoyed the absolutely perfect weather that this day was providing us, Brent threw stick for their two dogs into the water who seemed to be having the most fun of anyone that day (see their elopement film below to see just how much fun the dogs had!)

Katie and Brent took their adventure elopement to the next level by paddle boarding on the lake in their wedding dress and suit, immortalizing their love in a truly memorable way. Katie’s dress got muddy and wet. Brent’s suit was hung upon trees and bushes providing an unnatural but comforting resting place for the many dragon flies and alpine lake bugs that resided in the area. As the food was finished up, everyone helped pack up every last inch of the picnic their to leave it better than we found it and began making the long rocky trek down the mountain road to the waiting town of Telluride, where they had made special reservations at a restaurant that evening to complete the celebratory day. All in all, it was a perfect summer day up in the San Juan Mountains for an elopement.

As we reflect on Katie and Brent's elopement, it's evident that love and adventure intertwine seamlessly in the mountains of Colorado. From hidden waterfalls to lakeside vows and paddle boarding escapades, their day was a testament to embracing the unexpected. We feel privileged to have been a part of this extraordinary journey, capturing the moments that will forever be etched in their hearts.
