Unforgettable Palmer, Alaska Elopement: A Helicopter Adventure with Nicole and Chris

Embarking on an elopement journey in Alaska may seem like a daring endeavor, but for Nicole and Chris, it was a dream come true. Unveil the magic of their Palmer, Alaska elopement, with a multi-landing helicopter adventure as the main event in an extraordinary day that was full of intentional moments, daring adventure, and breathtaking landscapes.

Alaska, the northernmost and westernmost state, set the stage for Nicole and Chris's unforgettable elopement adventure. As avid outdoor enthusiasts, their journey unfolded in the breathtaking wilderness of Palmer, Alaska. Palmer resides just north of Anchorage, Alaska and is a prime location for adventurers around the world to come take in the beauty and ethereal landscapes of the Last Frontier.

Planning the Adventure: A Helicopter Elopement in Alaska

Nicole and Chris, hailing from Toronto, meticulously planned their 7-week journey to Palmer, Alaska long before their elopement was to place. As elopement Photographer and Videographer’s themselves, planning their adventurous elopement was a dream come true. Couple it with the fact that they had built out their own adventure van to travel to Alaska in and the scene was set for an epic day and a truly memorable journey for their year and the foundation of their lives together. An off-grid cabin with their fur buddy Kenai, stunning landscapes, and a helicopter elopement tour were key elements in making their elopement dream day come to life.

Weathering the Elements: Rescheduling for the Perfect Day

Flexibility became paramount as the rainiest week in Palmer approached with their elopement. With a helicopter tour as the centerpiece, the elopement day was rescheduled to a sunny Saturday, showcasing the beauty of Alaska without compromising on the original plan. While rescheduling is not always advised, nor possible with the scheduling of some elopements, as a professional elopement photographer and videographer, I always try to give myself a few extra buffer days on the front and back end of an elopement I need to travel for just in case this scenario happened. In this case, my wife Amy and I had actually made the journey into a trip for ourselves as well so that we could get well acquainted with the Alaskan wilderness before the day of the elopement, which is a common theme of elopements we need to travel for. In this scenario, it helped out immensely as when talking with Nicole and Chris on the week leading up to their elopement we decided the best course of action with all the torrential rains was to push back the scheduled elopement by a day.

Capturing the Magic of An Alaska Elopement

Once the day was here, we all met up at the off-grid cabin Nicole and Chris has rented for the morning of their elopement. The cabin was nestled off-road deep into the forests that surround Palmer and offered a private and serene setting for Nicole and Chris to get dressed and ready with their loving husky pup, Keno.

Once everyone was ready, Nicole and Chris packed up in their adventure van and we all headed over to the Helicopter Adventure company that would be the main event of the day.

We all took off in a helicopter and landed in multiple different locations from on top on a mountain ridge to standing on the ancient ice of the massive Knik Glacier. From the thrill of the helicopter ride to the meaningful exchange of vows on the Knik glacier, their journey captured the essence of an adventurous love. They even chose to pack raft in the stunning blue glacier pool water after their intimate ceremony. We journeyed to mountaintops. We explored ancient glaciers. We experienced the most incredible day together celebrating the love of Nicole and Chris. As the darkness set upon us, we helicoptered back to Palmer and all drove up to Hatcher Pass for finale of their epic Alaska elopement: their ring ceremony at sunset.

As an Alaska elopement videographer, I am honored to share this extraordinary day filled with unforgettable moments in the heart of Alaska's wilderness.
